Playdays

July 22nd - July 23rd

Friday, July 22nd

We decided to visit Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
about 40 south of Brisbane.

Here we could get up close and personal
with both koalas and kangaroos!

These two were having an argument about
who was going to sleep on this branch!

Then we got to hold a koala ourselves!

Then we went to see the snake lady!

And much to our surprise we saw Kim Campbell,
Canadian midwife, holding a snake herself!

Debbie and I fed the kangaroos
with bags of kangaroo feed.

They had very gentle mouths as they nibbled
on the food and were surprisingly shy.

Now HERE was a big one...

He was quite happy to just lie
there on the ground for us.

Leave it to the midwives to seek out the babies.
This is a Wallaby.

If you look closely, you will see her baby
peeking out of her pouch!

These are lorikeets.

Absolutely beautiful birds!
